The Taradale Four Hills Ride is for e-bike riders who like the challenge of hills, and for others, who have not experienced hill riding, this is a chance to give it a go. And to enjoy the views.
The first climb is up Tironui Drive, the steepest and longest. Tirinui Drive runs alongside Church Road Winery and heads up beside the Sugarloaf, a prominent Taradale Hill. The descent can be very fast, depending on how daring you want to be.
Next up, is the more gentle slope to the Mission Estate Winery. It’s a great place to stop for a photo. Or lunch.

The hill up Puketitri Road is another challenge but not as steep as Tirinui Drive. Towards the top, take care to cross over to the cemetery. Once inside, there is a choice as to whether you’d like to sedately ride down the road, or take the off road track.
Once at the bottom, turn right along Prebersen Road to do the last climb up Oak Road. It is a new subdivision and the view from the current vacant land at the top is very rewarding.
