New Zealand went into Level 4 lock-down on the 25th March 2020 in an attempt to “flatten the curve” of the corona virus Covid-19 pandemic. Everyone who was not deemed an essential worker was told to “stay at home”. The world came to a halt, as did our Ebike Social Riders Hawkes Bay group rides.

Waitangi to Lappuccino Hastings
The Waitangi Regional Park to Lappuccino Cafe in Hastings ebike ride is one of our shorter loops at 35 kms. The first part of route begins on the Hawkes Bay Trails along the stop bank of the Ngaruroro River. From this trail it is easy to see why the Plains are so fertile.
Guppy Road to Whakatu Loop
The Guppy Road (Taradale) loop takes in Waitangi Regional Park, Coastal and River Trails (Hawkes Bay Trails), via Pakowhai, Whakatu and Clive.

Waitangi to Hastings loop
Waitangi Regional Park is a beautiful place to start and finish a ride. It looks magnificent whatever time of day, and whatever the weather. Distance 30kms.

Waitangi Park to Puketapu via Swamp Rd
This mostly off-road e-bike loop ride starting from Waitangi Regional Park on the coast, follows the banks of the Ngaruroro River alongside very productive farmland, past Pakowhai Regional Park up to Fernhill. From there it’s a long country road (Swamp Road) to Puketapu. The return off-road route is along the Tutaekuri River via Awatoto, along the Hawkes Bay Trails.
Distance 46kms. The long shared pathway tracts alongside river banks, orchards and vineyards. There is one section along a country road that does not have a cycle lane. Cafe: Puketapu Pub
